James O'Donnell
Attorney
James O'Donnell is an associate in Peters Kussmaul Crosier's corporate and M&A practice. He represents buyers and sellers of privately held businesses throughout the course of a transaction, from due diligence and the letter of intent through the negotiation of definitive agreements and closing. James also serves as outside corporate counsel to privately held companies, advising on commercial agreements, corporate governance, and ownership matters that arise in the ordinary course of business.
James received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Texas A&M University School of Law, where he completed a concentration in business law and served as an Associate Managing Editor of the Texas A&M Journal of Property Law. During law school, he represented early-stage entrepreneurs on entity selection and governance matters as a student attorney in the school's Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Christopher Modelewski of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Suffolk County, and clerked for Freeman Mills PC in Fort Worth and Earth & Water Law in Washington, D.C.
James joined the firm as a law clerk in January 2026 and became an associate upon his admission to the State Bar of Texas. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from James Madison University and, before law school, managed contract administration and client relations for a construction company in New York.
